The Accademia Internazionale di Teatro regularly offers its students and graduates a series of training meetings with actors and directors of great standing in the Italian theatre and film scene, who have distinguished themselves for their innovative approach to the performing arts.
Among the protagonists of these events are Lino Musella, the company Carrozzerie Orfeo, Carlo De Ruggieri, Oscar De Summa, Michele Sinisi and Massimiliano Civica.

The upcoming events scheduled are:

  • Giuseppe Marini, director, on 26 January at 2:00 pm

The activities are part of the “Third Mission” programme, an initiative that supports A.I.T. students and graduates in entering the professional sector, providing them with practical tools and networks of contacts to face their working future with confidence and skill.

International tours and festivals

International tours and festivals

Other important activities complementing the educational path include: the production and staging of performances, the organisation of festivals and events, the running of exchanges with international institutions and companies, participation in calls and projects for cultural activities, and the creation of companies made up of students and graduates who present their work in genuine national and European tours.

The most significant projects of the 2023 and 2024 seasons were:

  • the production of the show Sinfonia, funded by the Regione Lazio through the Bando Spettacolo dal Vivo 2023, on tour in Lazio and later in central Italy;
  • a further production, with a large cast, which staged a distinctive water-based setting of the tragedies Il Minotauro and La Maledizione di Edipo, both presented at the Festival dei Teatri del Mediterraneo 2023.
  • The creation of three further shows, La Tempesta by W. Shakespeare, Hamletmaschine, an adaptation of the work by H. Müller, and Fà...Volare, an original piece inspired by classic fairy tales, presented at the Festival Mirabilia 2024

The most notable project of the 2024 season was the creation of the show Funambules which premiered at the Avignon Festival, performing its work for more than 20 evenings and continuing the tour in numerous cities of Northern Italy.

There were many exchange activities, the most prominent of which were carried out with: Jan Fabre, Theater Titanick, Aidas, Dundu, I Nuovi Scalzi and Mirabilia Festival.

New productions premiering at the Mirabilia Festival

The Accademia Internazionale di Teatro is delighted to announce the creation of two new original productions involving the students of the three-year course in a high-profile creative and professional journey.

The first production, titled Shakespear&Chef, is created in collaboration with the historic company Circo a Vapore and is inspired by object theatre. The show is conceived as a theatrical journey through the most iconic works of William Shakespeare, reinterpreted with irony and poetry through the use of objects, puppets and scenic animation techniques.

The second production, titled Imaginarium, explores instead the evocative power of storytelling and imagination. At the heart of the creation is the figure of the narrator-mime, able to bring worlds, characters and visions to life with the body and voice alone, in a constant interplay of word, gesture and presence.

Both shows are the result of a scenic research laboratory that brings pedagogy, experimentation and performance practice into dialogue, with the aim of combining training and artistic production.

The two new creations will be presented as a national première at the Mirabilia Festival in Cuneo, one of the most important Italian events dedicated to contemporary performing arts.

Publication of the "A.I.T. Handbook"

Publication of the "A.I.T. Handbook"

In December 2023, Emmanuel Gallot Lavallée (founder of the A.I.T.), Fiammetta Bianconi and Silvia Marcotullio (founders and directors of the A.I.T.) published a work that gathers and systematises the methodologies applied in the Academy's educational and pedagogical path, titled Manuale dell'Accademia Internazionale di Teatro. This text is presented as a genuine journey, through the various stages of the learning process, which leads the actor to develop their own artistic sensibility while combining technique and expressive ability. An interdisciplinary approach with particular attention to group dynamics, to the actor's physical training, and to the use of voice and body. Published by Cartman Edizioni, this volume is part of the Academy's Research and Development activities, which for years has been committed not only to training new generations of actors and directors, but also to reflecting on and innovating teaching methods in theatre pedagogy.

Graduation Ceremony at the Teatro Anfitrione

The traditional Graduation Ceremony of the Accademia Internazionale di Teatro took place on 21 and 22 June at the Teatro Anfitrione in Rome, featuring the graduating third-year students of the Degree Course in Acting.

The event, held over two days, took place at 3:00 pm in the presence of the Artistic Direction, the faculty, the families and numerous guests from the theatrical, academic and cultural world.

The ceremony marked the conclusion of an intense three-year programme of training, study and scenic research, during which the students undertook an artistic and professional journey aimed at the development of interpretative, technical and creative skills.

After the institutional greetings and the speeches by the faculty, the students officially received the First-Level Academic Diploma recognised by the MUR, with the public proclamation and the awarding of the certificates.

The event concluded with a convivial moment of sharing and celebration, sealing the milestone achieved and the beginning of a new artistic and professional path in the world of live performance.
