Patrizia La Fonte, actress and author, graduated from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts Silvio D’Amico, lived in New York in 1988-’89 following the Actors' Studio, attending courses in Improvisation Comedy and working as an assistant director in Off-Broadway theaters.

In theater, she has been directed by A. Salines, F. Molè, D. D’Anza, M. Bernardi, V. Ciurlo, I. Loesch, R. Marafante, W. Manfrè, M. Fallucchi, A. Martino, R. Cavallo, T. Sherman. She has been a leading actress in many “Secret Passages”, itinerant shows at Castel S.Angelo, the Roman Forum, Capitoline Museums, and Palazzo Braschi.

Often a director and performer of her own plays, she is co-author and performer with F. R. d’Ettorre of “Caro Millenovecento”, performed with the Rome Guitar Trio. Co-author with T. Sherman of “Ellen Dean – Wuthering Heights”, which she performed under the direction of T. Sherman.

She has brought her “Maturina fantesca, erede di Leonardo da Vinci” across Italy and abroad since 2012, and the text has been published by "Ikona Liber" in the "Il teatro nel mondo" series.

In 2023, she wrote and directed "Donna Bisodia e i santi inventati," and performed it with Giuseppe Palasciano and the flutes of Ugo Galasso, with live songs by Stefano Gragnani and other traditional Tuscan songs, touring in 2024-25.

She stars in “The Death of Pythia” by F. Dürrenmatt, adapted by P. La Fonte and Irene Lösch, directed by Giuseppe Marini (Franco Enriquez Award 2024 for this show), alongside Maurizio Palladino. After debuting in Rome in 2023, it will return to the stage in various Italian cities during the 2024-25 season.

In cinema, she has been directed by P. F. Campanile, M. Monicelli, N. Loy, D. D’Ambrosi, F. Ozpetek (“Sacred Heart”), C. Bortone (“Red Like the Sky,” awarded the David di Donatello Youth Award 2007), “Stay On-Io resto qua” directed by Gianluca Sia (Best Actress Award Sezze Film Festival 2021), “Quasi Orfano” (with R. Scamarcio and Valeria Puccini) directed by Umberto Carteni (RAI Cinema) 2022, “La nouvelle femme” directed by Léa Todoròv (FR/ITA film) 2022 released in France 2024, “Senza età” directed by Stefano Usardi, a road movie for which she received the Best Actress Award at the Gulf of Naples Independent Film Festival 2024.

On television, she has participated in many productions, including “Le ragazze di San Frediano,” directed by R. V. Sindoni, the ten series of “Incantesimo” and “SOS Befana,” directed by F. Vicario, “Romanzo Famigliare” directed by F. Archibugi (Rai Uno 2017), “Carla” directed by E. Imbucci (Rai Uno 2021), a biopic about Carla Fracci, “Doc-Nelle tue mani 2” (Rai Uno 2021), “I cacciatori del cielo” directed by M. Vitale, a docufiction with Beppe Fiorello (Rai Uno 2023, Raiplay).

Teacher since 1983 of performing arts and communication, with a particular focus on voice, phonetic re-education, and diction, she is also often an acting coach and consultant in various fields, and teaches Diction and Acting courses throughout Italy (Lignano Sabbiadoro, Rovereto, Trento, Rome, Lamezia Terme) and abroad (New York, 1988, readings-lectures from Dante to the 17th century for the “Middle School of Italian Language in Manhattan,” New Jersey, 1989, Readings: Dante, T. Tasso for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences–Dept. of Italian at Rutgers University of N.J.).

Since 2008, she has taught techniques of emission, phonetic articulation and resonators, orthophony of the Italian language, didactics of vocal training, and voice education at the International Theater Academy.

In 2016, she published the book “Giusto per dire, guida poco teorica e molto pratica per l’italiano parlato” which gathers thirty years of teaching experience with the original imitative phonetic method (ed. Ikona Liber) used in her courses.

In 2017, she conceived and organized the “Lydia Biondi International Award” and participated in the Festival of the Italian Language and Dialects “Parole in cammino” in Siena.
