Cristiano Gerbino

Born in Padua, he is the creator and founder of the KINO project, a cultural centre devoted to promoting the art of cinema from 2011 to 2018 in Rome and from 2014 to the present day in Berlin. In 2008 he founded the production company Fake Factory.

As producer, co-producer or associate producer he has made five feature films for Fake Factory (among them “Fratelli d’Italia”, Special Mention of the Jury at the Rome Film Festival and nominated for the Nastri d'Argento; “Ragazze la vita trema”, Venice Days – Venice Film Festival; “Ci vorrebbe un miracolo”, Best Film RIFF and Special Event at the Giffoni Film Festival). For Controra Film he produced “2Night”, in competition at Alice nella Città – Rome Film Festival. With Nightswim he made “Muori di Lei” by Stefano Sardo, co-produced with Medusa Film.

As distributor or co-distributor, for Il KINO or for other companies, he has distributed “The Future” by M. July, finalist for the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival; “Klip” by Maja Milos, winner of the Toronto Film Festival; “Souls of America” by Pull Brien, selected at over 30 international festivals; “Ipersonnia” by Alberto Mascia; “Nel nome di Gerry Conlon” by Lorenzo Moscia; “Io e Il secco” by Gianluca Santoni; “Drive Me Home” by Simone Catania; “Butterfly” by Alessandro Cassigoli and Casey Kauffman, winner of the Globo D’Oro.

In 2019 he won, with Indyca Film, the “Audience Design Award” of the Torino Film Lab.

He is a permanent consultant for several Italian film production companies, in editorial development (story analyst) and promotion strategies (marketing and audience).

As a teacher, he held a chair at the University of Teramo from 2007 to 2012, and has taught in various forms the history and language of cinema and writing techniques at the Scuola Holden (Turin), the Nuct (now Roma Film Academy) and the IED (European Institute of Design).

In 2019 he worked on the cinema section of the MACRO Asilo in Rome; in 2020 he created the Film Society, a hub of international arthouse cinema, talks and in-depth events, which had its first expression over the three years 2020-2021-2022 at the Teatro India in Rome.
