Marco Bandiera

Born in Ivrea, he trained in Rome, where in 2020 he earned the First-Level Academic Diploma in Acting at the Accademia Internazionale di Teatro, at the end of the three-year programme recognised by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.

In parallel he deepened his study of Commedia dell’Arte, attending workshops and laboratories led by leading masters on the national and international scene, including Mauro Piombo, Luca Negroni, Enrico Bonavera and Savino Italiano of the company I Nuovi Scalzi. These experiences helped define a stage language founded on the actor’s physicality, the mask and improvisation — elements that characterise his theatrical poetics.

In 2021 he founded the company Teatro Roget in Rome, with which he began a path of independent research and artistic production, creating several original works. In the same year he began collaborating with Luca Negroni as a teaching assistant for the module of Commedia dell’Arte within the Academic Diploma Course of the Accademia Internazionale di Teatro, a role that allows him to combine his artistic activity with teaching.

In 2022 he organised, at the Teatro Ygramul in Rome, the Commedia dell’Arte workshop “La Commedia degli Zanni”, directed by Mauro Piombo, from which he selected – together with the master – a group of performers for the production of the show “D’Amore o di Cannibalismo – Massacro Live Show” (production: Melanchòlia Teatro).

In 2023 he made his debut as an author and performer in the show “Il Castello Non C’è Più!” (directed by Rita Aprile), currently on tour, in which he combines personal memory, popular tradition and contemporary language.

Since November 2024 he has been teaching theatre in Rome’s nursery schools with the ACSD Teatro Bambini di Roma, promoting expressive programmes and workshops for the youngest children.

In 2025 he earned a Master’s Degree in Arts and Humanities, in Writing and production for the performing arts and media (Cinema, Theatre, Dance) at Sapienza University of Rome, where he explored the processes of creation, analysis and production of the performance event. In the same year he took part, as a prompter, in the rehearsals of the production “Long Day’s Journey Into Night” by Eugene O’Neill (directed by Gabriele Lavia; co-production: Effimera Teatro – Teatro della Toscana).

In June 2025 he won First Prize at the dramatic contest “Monologhi in una notte di mezza estate 2025” (Vanzago, MI), a competition promoted by the associations Officine Teatrali and WakeUp Vanzago. In July 2025 he made his debut as a director at the Roma Fringe Festival with the show “AZzIONE IMMEDIATA!” (production: Teatro Roget).
