Valerio Morigi

Acting on camera - Recitazione e Nuovi media

Valerio Morigi

Actor, producer and teacher, Valerio Morigi was born in Rome, where he earned a degree in Law at “Roma Tre” University and trained as an actor at the Accademia Internazionale di Teatro, graduating in 2001. So began a career that quickly led him to work with leading directors of the Italian theatre scene and, at the same time, to establish himself in the world of cinema and television.

Over the years he has taken part in numerous national and international productions, including the series Barbarians (Netflix), in which he plays the Roman legionary Metellus, performing entirely in Latin, and Our Wonderful Years (Unsere wunderbaren Jahre 2, Netflix Germany), in which he performs in German. He is the lead in the international series Rio Connection, produced by Sony Pictures and directed by Mauro Lima, an American production of eight episodes shot entirely in Rio de Janeiro, where he plays the role of Tommaso Buscetta. In Italian cinema he was among the leads of Ghiaccio (2022), directed by Fabrizio Moro and Alessio De Leonardis, and of Diamanti (2024) by Ferzan Özpetek. He is Marcello in the film R.I.P., directed by S. De Santis and A. D’Ambrosi, due in cinemas this coming autumn, and he is currently on the set of the new film by Ciro D’Emilio, Erica.

Alongside his acting career he has always pursued an intense activity in the field of training. In 2015, together with Angelo Longoni, he founded the Action Pro project, a professional laboratory that laid the foundations for a new conception of actor training: practical, immersive and work-oriented. From that experience, in 2020, came ActorsGym, an advanced acting school that Valerio now directs together with his sister Silvia Morigi. A place of research, vision and daily training, where stage practice meets the demands of the contemporary market.

He is also the founder, together with his brother Fabrizio Morigi, of Mob Studios, a centre of artistic production and experimentation founded in 2017 in the heart of the Ostiense district. Mob Studios and ActorsGym today represent a creative and professional ecosystem unique on the Roman scene, where training, creation and production coexist and feed one another.

The collaboration between Valerio and the Accademia Internazionale di Teatro is a very long-standing one, rooted in a solid and fertile relationship that, over the years, has naturally come to involve Mob Studios and ActorsGym as well, giving rise to a powerful synergy destined to evolve further.

In his teaching work, Valerio combines deep field experience with a clear and passionate vision of actor training. His approach guides the actor towards an autonomous and self-aware artistic identity, able to move fluidly across theatre, cinema, television and new performing languages.
