Open Air Theater

Uwe Kohler

I would actually like to welcome you with the real elements of fire, water, wind and earth, or with other special effects such as foam, electricity or compressed air - because these effects are the spiced delights of the theatre, which I love. But, of course, what remains is the foundation of every staging of the show, with me holding on to it: a gestural-mimic performance more interesting than text-based theatre. Theatre must be like football - which was already the creed of the first independent theatre group Hofmann Comic Teater from Berlin, where in 1980 I made my first theatrical attempts. And this is the driving force behind the search for an exciting theatre, a work of art made of spectacles, images, music, lights and effects.
